Driving
industry strategic change
The
greatest challenge for the year ahead is
to accept the huge changes facing the printing
industry and turn them into opportunities.
Substitution of print by online services
is the reality in the professional media
space, as directories give way to digital
search tools and publishers develop new
data services.
But
the volume of printed material is still
increasing as direct marketing continues
to grow fast; the demand for new packaging
designs increases year on year; magazine
print grows with a raft of new weeklies;
"newspapers" leverage analysis
and entertainment add-ons; and the number
of new book titles continue to increase
month on month.
Technology
and new business models are providing increasing
opportunity to offer new and exciting services
to customers - and to improve profit margins.
Print
Congress 2005 looks at the forces driving
strategic change at all levels and helps
to spot the opportunities at sector and
company level for suppliers, printers and
customers.
